Anxiety Attacks Panic Attacks

Have you ever been awakened in the middle of the night with shortness of breath, sweating, racing heart, tightening of the throat and/or chest and an incredibly overwhelming feeling of hopelessness?  Panic Attacks, also referred to as Anxiety attacks, are frightening, to say the least.  They can result in loss of sleep and make a patient feel that he/she has lost control over his/her life. One cannot really fully understand panic attacks unless one has had one.

Panic or Anxiety Attacks can be caused by stress, Depression, heredity, or other biological or psychological ailments.  They often do not give any warning before occurring and once they do happen, oftentimes the patient will experience recurring bouts or cycles of panic attacks.  Panic attacks do not discriminate–they can affect young or old, male or female.  Once these attack cycles start, the patient is willing to do almost anything to keep from having another one.

There are treatments available for Panic And Anxiety Attacks–some medical and some natural.  Psychological counseling or therapy can be effective treatments. There are also prescription drugs available to help treat these attacks.  These drugs are sometimes in the form of a mild anti-depressant which should break the Panic Attack cycles and allow the patient to resume a somewhat normal lifestyle.   There are also natural treatments available which can be quite effective.  It is important for the patient to examine all options before deciding upon a course of action.

If you are a victim of panic attacks, talk to your counselor or your family physician to discuss your options and which might be most effective for your particular situation.

It is also important that you realize there is hope and successful Treatments For Panic Attacks which should allow you to resume a normal life. If you are interested in trying a “natural way”, please click this link.
