Overcoming Panic

For me, as a child growing up, I just always had a feeling of being just a little different than everyone else. My parents always said I was shy. I’m sure that probably as a child with not many responsibilities or fears, this was a true statement.
As I grew older and established a group of friends I couldn’t help but always compare myself to how everyone else handled different situations as we all grew up together. I generally chose not to face them as much as possible by withdrawing from the public.
I preferred this response instead of the horrifying feeling of having to respond to someone I was not familiar with. When these situations of having to interact with someone or a group of people I would have myself in such a nervous state even before the situation occurred! It was horrifying!
When in college and taking exams I would do the same thing to myself. I lacked the self-confidence and strength to simply do my best. I knew the material covered in the tests, but I would just Panic and not be able to complete them. Then when I got married and had children, my fears for them and their safety arose. It drove them crazy! I hated the person I was and wanted to be so much more.
After reading The Linden Method, I was able to take a deep breath and like myself. This book has given me a psychological understanding to gain emotional balance. The Linden Method has given me the ability to recognize the onset of a Panic Attack and treatment for me to cope and overcome.
