Panic Attacks At Night
Why is that after I started taking paxil cr12.5 mg I’ve been having more Panic Attacks and mostly at night?
I’ve been taking it for approximately six days. How do I know if the drug is working and if not what is the best way to deal with my Anxiety disorder. Just for the record I have been diagnosed by several doctors too have the condition as well as mood disorder. Any ideas or advice?
Are you taking other medications? If so, this symptom may be an affect of drug interactions. My guess is the answer is yes because Anxiety is usually treated with benzodiazapines initially. If not, it may be a side effect and you need to notify your healthcare provider so that he/she can adjust the dosage or change meds.
Is Paxil an accumulative drug? In other words does it have to continue to accumulate in the body in order to stay in a therepeutic range? Yes. How long have you been taking it? It should definitely begin to show effectiveness within a week if the therapeutic level is reached. Do you take it regularly without fail? Same time every day? If not, it could effect the effectiveness of the drug. Sometimes drugs are actually given for their side effects rather than for what the manufacturer advertises. This may or may not work. It’s a shot-in-the-dark for your healthcare provider. They don’t know for certain that any drug is going to work for any particular person so you have to communicate with them so that they can help you. If they don’t know you’re having these effects, they can’t do a thing for you. If you’ll call him/her and let him/her know what’s going on they may be able to adjust or change the med.
Advice: this condition is generally treatable. If you’ll continue to communicate with your healthcare provider, you’ll probably find a workable solution that you are comfortable with; however, keep in mind that you may never feel completely normal but your symptoms may be controlled to the point that you can actually live with it.
