Stop Anxiety Attacks

One of the keys stopping Anxiety attacks is learning how to relax your mind. If the overall level of Stress And Anxiety are high in your life, that can trigger full-blown Anxiety Attacks. As a long-time sufferer who healed himself, I learned that relaxation techniques really help. Here are a few suggestions.
Challenge your mind. Read a book or article which makes you think in different or unconventional ways, maybe even challenges your opinions on something. “Freakonomics” and Malcolm Gladwell’s books (“Blink”, “Tipping Point”, “Outliers”) fit this category nicely because they look at “hidden” data in conventional situations and prompt us to think more deeply. Also, read biographies about interesting or inspirational characters from history. This might lead to a more positive outlook on life and add new energy.
Be proactive, work, get things done. This might sound counteractive to “relaxation” advice, but putting things off might temporarily feel good. The result is even more stress and anxiety if the tasks pile up. Get it done now and truly relax with ease of mind. Remember: A relaxed mind is much easier to Stop Anxiety attacks than one besieged with stress.
Smile and laugh more. Laughing releases endorphins, which fights stress. Do things that add to your “laughter bank” like reading humorous stories, renting comedies or watching funny online video. Go to a comedy club. Be around friends who are silly and can make you smile and laugh.
Fix your household. If your source of stress is something happening at home, be proactive about finding the solution. Sure, maybe your spouse nags at you about a home project not finished, but rather than getting worked up about it, finish it. If you’re kids’ bad behavior is making you anxious, work with them on it (typically it stems from attention-seeking actions or your lack of discipline with them). Whatever it may be, get working on the solution. Even if the eventual dismissal of the problem will take some time, sometimes just working towards the solution helps to ease the burden of anxiety.
Lastly, be a collector of relaxing music and sounds (like the CDs of the sounds of the ocean or a rainforest). Put them in a list for your digital player (iPod, Zune) and have them ready to ease your tension throughout the day or to get ready for the night. I’ve even used music to stop an anxiety attack as it was happening. Very powerful stuff!
